Comair appoints Wrenelle Stander to its board

Johannesburg – Wednesday 18 June 2008. Comair Limited (Comair), the company that operates British Airways (domestic and regional) and kulula today announced the appointment of Wrenelle Stander as an independent, non-executive director to its board of directors.

Says Erik Venter, Comair’s joint CEO, “We are absolutely delighted to have someone with Wrenelle’s impeccable credentials to serve on our board.  Her wealth of experience within the aviation industry will stand Comair in good stead during her tenure.”

Stander adds, “It is a great honour to be able to serve as a director of a company that has such a solid track record and I look forward to helping it to reach even greater heights in the future.”

Stander has served in various capacities in the Department of Transport, the South African Civil Aviation Authority and the Air Traffic and Navigation Service Company. Stander has for the last three years served as the Chief Executive Officer at the Air Traffic and Navigation Services Company, South Africa.

She is currently serving as the General Manager: Office of the Chief Executive at Sasol Limited. Prior to the aviation industry Stander served in senior positions in the South African energy NGO sector.

Stander has a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Town, as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University, in the United Kingdom.
