Johannesburg – Thursday 13 November 2008. Comair, the JSE-listed aviation company which operates British Airways Domestic and Regional, has extended its deadline to global distribution content provider Amadeus to review its service fees.
Initially given until 15 November 2008 to reduce its fees, Comair has extended the deadline to 1 December 2008 in order to allow for the successful completion of negotiations between the two parties which are still currently underway.
Failure to reach agreement will result in Comair limiting it’s inventory to premium fares only. Should this happen, Comair has advised that contingency plans are in place to assist and ensure minimum impact and disruption to all affected travel agents.
Notes to Editor:
- British Airways (operated by Comair) operates in excess of 350 flights per week
- Premium fares are full business class (J) and full economy class (Y) fares
British Airways international flight sectors will not be impacted
